Buried by AI or Built by Authenticity?

AI Is Making Authenticity the Next Great Brand Advantage
Artificial intelligence is moving fast. It is writing copy, answering questions, building systems, organizing workflows, predicting behavior, and reshaping the way brands communicate with the world.
But the more AI expands, the more one truth becomes impossible to ignore:
The future will not belong to the brands that simply automate the most. It will belong to the brands that feel the most authentic.
AI is raising the floor. Soon, every company will have access to faster content, smarter tools, cleaner systems, and more efficient communication. What once felt innovative will quickly become expected. Automation will no longer be the advantage. It will be the baseline.
That means the real separation will come from experience.
Not generic experience. Not scripted service. Not a “thank you for your business” email generated in three seconds.
Real experience.
The kind built through hospitality, attention, timing, emotional intelligence, and care. The kind that makes a customer feel seen instead of processed. The kind that turns a transaction into a relationship.
Hospitality is no longer just a restaurant, hotel, or luxury concept. It is becoming one of the most important brand strategies in the AI era because hospitality is one of the clearest expressions of authenticity.
Hospitality is how your brand welcomes people. How it follows up. How it solves problems. How it remembers details. How it makes someone feel when nobody is watching. It is the difference between being efficient and being meaningful.
But brands have to be careful.
AI will create incredible opportunities, but it will also create a dangerous amount of sameness. Similar messaging. Similar graphics. Similar emails. Similar customer experiences. Brands that use AI without personality, taste, or intention risk being buried alive by the very technology they hoped would set them apart.
To truly take advantage of the authenticity opportunity AI is creating, brands should focus on four things:
Use AI to remove friction, not authenticity. Let technology handle repetitive tasks, organize systems, and improve speed, but never let it strip away warmth, personality, or care from the customer experience.
Build authentic moments into every process. A personal follow-up, a thoughtful detail, a remembered preference, or a genuine conversation can mean more than any automated campaign.
Protect the voice and soul of the brand. AI can support content and communication, but the brand’s values, tone, taste, and story must still come from real purpose.
Train teams to serve with authenticity, not just move faster. The best brands will use AI to give their people more time, more insight, and more confidence to create memorable experiences rooted in care.
The brands that win with AI will not use it to remove authenticity. They will use it to protect it.
AI can handle the repetitive work, organize the chaos, support better decisions, and give teams more time to focus on what actually matters: trust, connection, and experience. When used with intention, AI creates space for better conversations, better service, better storytelling, and better moments.
That is the opportunity.
At Shoulders of Giants, we believe the next generation of great brands will be built at the intersection of intelligence and authenticity. Technology will power the system, but authenticity will define the soul.
Because when every brand has access to the same tools, the advantage becomes how deeply people believe in you, trust you, and connect with what you stand for.
AI may change how business is done.
But authenticity will decide who is remembered.
